    Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the flexural capacity of reinforced concrete beams reinforced using two types of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) based reinforcement layers, namely Bio Fiber Rattan-ECC and Bio Textile Rattan-ECC. The use of alternative materials such as rattan fiber, fly ash, and palm kernel shell ash is intended to create construction solutions that are more environmentally friendly and in accordance with the principles of appropriate technology. This research uses a laboratory experimental method with a variation of reinforcement layer thickness of 2 cm and 4 cm. Variations of test specimens include: BBBN (Normal), BBB+M2cm (Mortar-ECC), BBB+M4cm (Mortar-ECC), BBB+BSR2cm (Bio Rattan Fiber-ECC), BBB+BSR4cm (Bio Rattan Fiber-ECC), BBB+BTR2cm (Bio Rattan Textile-ECC), BBB+BTR4cm (Bio Rattan Textile-ECC). Beam flexural strength testing was carried out at the age of 28 days. The results showed that the use of Bio Fiber Rattan-ECC and Bio Textile Rattan-ECC layers significantly increased the bending load of the beams compared to normal beams without reinforcement. The highest increase was obtained in the beam variation with a 4 cm thick layer of Mortar-ECC. This research shows the great potential of using rattan fibers and industrial waste materials as a sustainable structural reinforcement solution.
