dc.description.abstractThe transition to higher education poses various challenges for first-year students, including academic, social, and emotional pressures that can affect psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the role of self-regulated learning on psychological well-being in first-year students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatra. The sampling technique used in this study was probability sampling with the simple random sampling method. The samples in this study were 143 first-year students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatra by administering questionnaires using a self-regulated learning psychological scale prepared based on Zimmerman's theory (1989) and a psychological well-being scale prepared based on Ryff's theory (1989). The statistical method used in this research is simple linear regression analysis with the help of JASP 19.1. The results showed that the p value (0.001) <0.05 and the R² value of 0.369, meaning that self-regulated learning plays a role in psychological well-being in First Year Students at the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatra.en_US
