This study is a comparative research aimed at examining the differences in music genre preferences based on the Big Five personality types. The participants of this study consisted of 129 individuals aged between 17 and 32 years, residing in Indonesia, not working in the music industry, and having listened to digital music in the past 30 days. The analysis technique used to examine the differences in music genre preferences based on the Big Five personality types was the Chi-Square analysis, with data collected using a Likert scale instrument, namely the IPIP-BFM-25 by Akhtar & Azwar (2018), which consists of 25 items. The results of the study showed a Chi-Square value (X²) of 34.124 with df = 30 and a significance value of 0.264. Since the significance value of 0.264 is greater than 0.05 (p > 0.05), it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in music genre preferences when viewed from the Big Five personality types.en_US
