dc.description.abstractStar fruit is a tropical fruit with potential for processing into profitable horticultural products. Compounds in star fruit, such as flavonoids and phenols, function as antibacterial agents. Fruit juice drinks have shown significant growth compared to other categories. The preliminary design for a star fruit (Averrhoa Carambola L.) juice factory is designed with a production capacity of 15,523 tons per year and operating 330 days a year. The factory is planned to be located in Pekalongan Regency, Central Java. The purpose of the juice factory design is to apply chemical engineering knowledge, including mass balances, energy balances, equipment specifications, chemical engineering operations, utilities, and other aspects of chemical engineering. It also aims to meet the need for environmentally friendly alternative fuels. Total investment capital: IDR 209,598,816,152 Production costs: IDR 266,267,070,380 Sales revenue: IDR 338,858,520,000 Net profit: IDR 50,614,944,660 Profit margin: 21.32% Break-even point: 29.42% Return on investment: 24.15% Payout time: 4.14 years Return on network: 40.25% Internal rate of return: 25.81% From the economic analysis, it can be concluded that a starfruit juice factory is feasible.en_US
