Celosia cristata L, named chicken comb in Indonesia, is a flower plant from the Amaranthaceae family that grows and spreads widely in South America, Africa and Asia. Celosia is also used as a medicinal plant with several biological activities such as antioxidant activity from flower extracts. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the M1 population in comb plants. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture and Experimental Fields, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas of Sumatera Utara in January 2025 to May 2025. This study used the Descriptive Statistical Analysis method consisting of one treatment sample, namely chicken comb flowers with 30 Gy and 60 Gy irradiation treatments. The results showed that irradiation treatment with a dose of 30 Gy was significantly different from the control treatment on the number of branches and flowering age characters, but also showed results that were not significantly different from the characters of plant height and stem diameter. The results of the 60 Gy irradiation treatment were significantly different from the control treatment on the characters of plant height, stem diameter and flowering age, but not significantly different on the number of branches. There were changes in the morphology of mutated plants in the leaves, flower shape and color.
