The delivery of important information to students about the study program is sent through WhatsApp groups such as schedules and circulars that are often unreadable or stacked because of the large number of incoming messages that make students miss information. This makes students repeatedly ask for information to the study program administration staff. However, due to limited working hours, it is difficult for students to get information in real-time. Therefore, a service is needed to help students answer questions in real-time and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. This study highlights these problems and investigates the extent to which the implementation of chatbots can be an effective solution in providing instant and real-time information to students. The implementation of interactive question and answer services (chatbots) in the Information Technology study program of the University of North Sumatra using the Named Entity Recognition and Long Short-Term Memory methods can provide information to students about the study program. The data used in the development of the chatbot was taken from the website and interviews with the study program staff. In measuring chatbot performance, system testing was carried out and an accuracy of 88.46% was obtained.
