Pico-hydro power plants (PLTPH) are one of the renewable energy solutions that are environmentally friendly and suitable for implementation in remote areas. However, these systems still face challenges in real-time performance monitoring. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a PLTPH monitoring system based on the Internet of Things (IoT), using the Telegram social media platform as the user interface. The system utilizes an Arduino Mega 2560 to read data from various sensors, including current, voltage, water flow rate, and RPM sensors, while a NodeMCU ESP32 functions as the WiFi communication module to transmit real-time data via the Telegram API. The testing results show that the system is capable of monitoring operational parameters with a maximum error of 2.11% and an accuracy level of 97.89% in voltage measurements, which is still within an acceptable tolerance range. In addition, the WiFi connection demonstrated stable performance within a distance range of 5 to 10 meters. This monitoring system is considered effective and efficient in enhancing the reliability and convenience of power plant monitoring in remote locations. The integration of IoT technology with social media also presents opportunities for further development in other small-scale energy monitoring applications.
