Generation Z is known for its unique characteristics, such as being non-committal, living in the moment, and responding quickly to change. One prominent phenomenon among this generation is the tendency to engage in job hopping—frequently changing jobs within a short period to seek a better work environment, skill development, and higher compensation. This phenomenon has drawn attention to the factors influencing their intention to change jobs, such as Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and job insecurity (JI). POS refers to the extent to which employees feel valued and cared for by the organization, while JI is the feeling of insecurity regarding job continuity. This study aims to examine whether job insecurity mediates the relationship between POS and job hopping intention (JHI) among Generation Z employees in Medan City. A quantitative method was used with purposive sampling involving 165 respondents aged 18–30 who are currently employed in Medan. The results of the Sobel test analysis show that JI significantly mediates the relationship between POS and JHI, with a significance value of 0.00011889 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.228 indicates that 22.8% of the variation in JHI can be explained by POS and JI.en_US
