Implementasi Sistem Monitoring Suhu Berbasis LCD dan Internet of Things dengan Sensor DS18B20 pada Proses Perebusan Kacang Kedelai untuk Pembuatan Tempe
Implementation of LCD and Internet of Things Based Temperature Monitoring System with DS18B20 Sensor in Soybean Boiling Process for Making Tempeh
Abstract
Indonesia is the largest tempeh producer in the world and the largest soybean market in
Asia. In the tempeh making process, boiling soybeans is an important stage that affects the
quality of the final product. However, this process is often done manually and without an
accurate temperature monitoring device, increasing the risk of failure during fermentation.
Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a temperature monitoring system based
on LCD and Internet of Things (IoT) with a DS18B20 sensor in the soybean boiling
process. This system is built using ESP32 as a microcontroller, a DS18B20 sensor for
measuring the temperature of the soybean boiling air, a 16x2 LCD to display local
temperature, an I2C LCD module for efficient pin usage, a USB Micro Adapter as a
connection to the power supply, and the Blynk application to monitor temperature in real
time via a smartphone. The test results show that the system is able to read and display
temperature data accurately and stably on the LCD and via the Blynk platform. The sensor
works well in the boiling temperature range, and users can combine temperature
conditions remotely via an internet connection. With this innovation, UMKM can increase
the efficiency and consistency of the quality of the tempeh produced, and reduce
dependence on manual expertise.
