    Abstract
Rapid technological development and growth in the transportation sector have increased energy demand, where diesel engines are the primary choice due to their high thermal efficiency. However, the use of diesel engines poses problems related to exhaust emissions that are harmful to the environment and human health. This study aims to examine the effect of adding anti-smoke additives on the performance and exhaust emissions of diesel engines with variations in the type and concentration of additives. Testing was conducted by measuring power, torque, specific fuel consumption (SFC), thermal efficiency, as well as emissions of CO, CO2, O2, and HC gases in various fuel blends. The results show that the addition of additives in the B3 blend provides the best engine performance with a maximum power of 2.17 kW and torque of 8.3 Nm at a load of 4500 grams, with thermal efficiency reaching 42.26%. Exhaust emissions also decreased significantly, especially the lowest levels of CO and HC in the B3 blend. This study concludes that anti-smoke additives effectively improve combustion efficiency while reducing harmful emissions, thereby supporting energy conservation and environmental protection. Recommendations are made for further research with varied additive concentrations and the development of optimal additive raw materials.
