Penentuan Kadar Besi (Fe) dan Tembaga (Cu) pada Air Sumur Bor Sebelum dan Sesudah Penyaringan Menggunakan Tabung Penyaring FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic)
Determination of Iron (Fe) and Copper (Cu) Levels in Well Water Before and After Filtering using FRP Filter Tube (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic)
Abstract
Groundwater in several areas still contains heavy metals and has a physical quality that does not meet drinking water quality standards, so effective filtering efforts are needed. One method used is the application of a Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) filtration tank. This study aims to design a water filter tool based on FRP tubes and analyze its effectiveness in reducing the levels of Iron (Fe) and Cooper (Cu) metals and improving the physical properties of well water, including color, odor, and TDS. Sampling was conducted on 3 well water sources with variations in filtering flow rates of 8 L/minute, 10 L/minute, and 12 L/minute which were used to observe their effect on the filtering results. Metal analysis was carried out using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS), while physical properties and pH were tested organoleptically and using measuring instruments. The best results were obtained at a flow rate of 8 L/minute, basedon qualitative analysis showing good physical properties (color, odor, and TDS), namely clear, odorless, and having a TDS value of 145 mg/L. the chemical properties also improved, where the pH increased from 6,8 to 7,2, the initial levels of iron (Fe) and cooper (Cu) which were initially 7,4145 mg/L and 0,0057 mg/L were successfully reduced to 0,0027 mg/L and 0,0004 mg/L. These results indicate that FRP filter tubes can be used to improve the quality of well water and producing water that meets the drinking water quality standard of the Permenkes No. 2 of 2023.
