Synthesis of methyl oleate from esterification reaction between oleic acid and methanol catalyzed by CaO/Zeolite using a homogenizer device at room temperature was carried out at different variations, namely catalyst concentration and reaction time. CaO/Zeolite catalyst powder was obtained through the impregnation process of calcium acetate hydrate into zeolite followed by calcination at 700°C for 3 hours and then analyzed using spektrofotometer ATR-FTIR, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The analysis results was showed that CaO/Zeolite catalyst contained the element Ca (63,4%), Si (19,4%), and Al (3,6%) and in spectrophotometer ATR-FTIR analysis indicated the presence of CaO showed at wave number below 1000 cm⁻¹ was attributed to metal-oxygen bond of CaO and at typical wave number 715 cm⁻¹ and 1028 cm⁻¹ which indicated that Si and Al had interacted with Ca from CaO forming CaO/Zeolite. The reaction conditions carried out in this study was the catalyst concentration (9%, 12%, 15%, 18%, and 21%) and reaction time (5, 15, 30, 45, and 60 minute) with mol ratio 1:15 and mixing speed 4000 rpm in each variation. The percent conversion was determined by alkalimetric titration based on changes in acid numbers before and after the reaction based on ISO 660:2020 and gas chromatography.
