    Abstract
JOHANA FIORETTY BOANGMANALU. Species Diversity, Distribution Patterns, Associations of Kantong Semar (Nepenthes sp.) around the Sicike Cike Nature Tourism Park Lake, supervised by MOEHAR MARAGHIY HARAHAP and RIDAHATI RAMBEY. Kantong Semar are carnivorous plants that play an important role in the ecosystem. These plants have the ability to catch insects that help control pests and support environmental balance. The many types of Kantong Semar in North Sumatra, especially in the Sicike Cike Nature Tourism Park, have not been explored, so research is needed on these species. This study aims to analyze the diversity of species, distribution patterns, and associations of Kantong Semar (Nepenthes sp.) around the lakes of the Sicike Cike Nature Tourism Park, North Sumatra. The method used was purposive sampling at three lake locations (Lakes I, II, and III), with measurements of ecological parameters such as humidity, temperature, soil pH, and vegetation analysis using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, dominance, evenness, morisita, and association. The results showed that there were three species of Nepenthes, namely N. tobaica, N. spectabilis, and N. rhombicaulis. The distribution patterns of N. tobaica and N. spectabilis tended to be clustered, while N. rhombicaulis was randomly distributed. The diversity index is relatively low (H' < 1), with high dominance in Lake II and the highest evenness in Lake III. A positive association was found between Nepenthes sp. and lower vegetation such as ferns and pandan. This finding indicates that the condition of the habitat and surrounding vegetation greatly influences the presence and distribution of Kantong Semar (Nepenthes sp.).
