This study focuses on optimizing the production floor layout at CV. Hariara to enhance efficiency and productivity in the rice production process. The existing layout was identified to have issues such as backtracking, by-passing, and excessive material movement distances, leading to inefficiencies and failure to meet the company's 95% production target. The Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm was employed to propose an improved layout by minimizing total distance, material handling costs, and movement moments while maximizing the Line Efficiency Rate (LER). The proposed layout from ACO iteration 2 achieved a total distance of 249 meters, a total movement moment of 12,848.38 meters/week, material handling costs of Rp4,846,640.00 per month, and an LER of 98%, significantly improving upon the actual ayout’s 495 meters, 26,077 meters/week, Rp5,742,430.32 per month, and 63% LER. This resulted in a distance reduction of 66.13% and a material handling cost saving of 67.97%. The proposed layout eliminates backtracking and by-passing, optimizing material flow and supporting higher production output. Recommendations include further studies to evaluate implementation costs and timelines for practical application.en_US
