    Abstract
    This thesis is entitled Mamongkot Jabu Na Bayu in the Simalungun Community: A Study of Local Wisdom. The meaning of mamongkot jabu na bayu is a tradition that is carried out when entering a new house. This ceremony is carried out with the aim of praying for the person who will sympathize with the house, to be blessed with prosperity and to be kept away from various problems. This event is usually filled with eating together with the extended family and neighbors around the new house as a form of friendship. This research aims to describe what stages are contained in mamongkot jabu na bayu and what local wisdom is contained in mamongkot jabu na bayu, describe the meaning contained in mamongkot jabu na bayu, describe who is involved in mamongkot jabu na bayu . The theory used in analyzing the data is the local wisdom theory put forward by Robert Sibarani. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The results of the research show that the stages of mamongkot jabu na bayu consist of 6 stages, namely: (1) preparation stage (2) ribbon cutting stage (3) service stage (4) paulak artisan stage (5) eating together stage and (6) stage mangulosi. Local Wisdom in mamongkot jabu na bayu with peaceful values, namely: (1) Politeness, (2) Honesty, (3) Commitment, (4) Positive Thoughts, (5) Gratitude. The values of local welfare wisdom are: (1) Hard work, (2) Discipline, (3) Mutual cooperation, (4) Gender management, (5) Cultural preservation and creativity. The meaning of the mamongkot jabu na bayu tradition, and who is involved in the mamongkot jabu na bayu tradition.
