Development Of Rafting Tourism In Buluh Duri Village As A Special Interest Tourism Destination In Serdang Bedagai Regency
Abstract
The Bah Bolon River in Sipispis Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency, has great potential as a whitewater rafting tourist destination. However, to date, the development of whitewater rafting tourism in Sipispis Village has not been optimal. Limited supporting infrastructure and a lack of local community involvement are major challenges in making Sipispis a competitive special interest tourism destination. However, if managed properly, this activity would not only increase local revenue (PAD) but also stimulate local economic growth. This study aims to describe the potential, facilities, and tourism activities, the role of the village government, as well as the obstacles to its development, and how this tourist attraction can be developed. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection including field observations, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study include improvements to facilities, procurement of new equipment, guide training, and enhanced digital promotion. Integrated management is expected to make the Bah Bolon River a leading destination that provides economic benefits and preserves the environment.
