Analisis Identifikasi Komposisi Asam Lemak pada PSOFA (Palm Stearin Oil Fatty Acid) dengan Metode Kromatografi Gas di PT. Soci Mas Oleokimia
Analysis of Fatty Acid Composition Identification in PSOFA (Palm Stearin Oil Fatty Acid) using Gas Chromatography Method at PT. Soci Mas Oleochemical
Abstract
Background: Palm Stearin Oil Fatty Acid (PSOFA) is a fatty acid rich in long-chain saturated fatty acids in the form of palmitic acid (C16). It is the result of the hydrolysis of Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Stearin (RBDPS) using nickel as a catalyst.
Objective: This study aims to analyze and identify the fatty acid composition of PSOFA (Palm Stearin Oil Fatty Acid) at PT. Soci Mas Oleokimia.
Method: This study was conducted using a Shimadzu 2010 Plus Flame Ionization Detector (FID) gas chromatography and GLC 86 as the standard.
Results: The results of this study were obtained in the form of a chromatogram that provides the percentage (%) of fatty acid content contained in the PSOFA sample: C12 (0.14%), C14 (1.15%), C16 (60.03%), C18 (5.27%), C18:1 (26.67%), C18:2 (5.86%), C20 (0.46%) and there are also four impurities contained with concentrations of 0.07%, 0.10%, 0.13%, 0.10%, respectively.
Conclusion: The results of the fatty acid composition content in PSOFA that have been obtained are in accordance with the specification range set by PT. Soci Mas Oleochemical.
