This study aims to analyze the relationship between social strata and farmers’ access to capital in Denai Sarang Burung Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency. Social strata refer to hierarchical layers within society, determined by factors such as economic status, education level, social standing, and ownership of resources. Capital access refers to farmers’ ability to obtain financial resources to support agricultural activities. The study employed purposive sampling and involved 40 farmer respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results indicate a significant relationship between social strata and access to capital. Farmers with larger land holdings, higher levels of education, greater economic assets, and active roles within farmer groups tend to have easier access to capital, whether from formal institutions such as banks or from informal sources. These findings suggest that farmers in higher social strata are more likely to receive capital support. The study emphasizes the importance of considering social factors in policymaking to ensure inclusive access to capital for smallholder farmers.
