Abstract
QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) has emerged as an
integrated and practical solution for non-cash transactions. The urgency of this
study lies in the need to understand the role of QRIS in influencing students’
decisions in choosing digital payment methods, considering that students are
active technology users who can accelerate the adoption of digital financial
systems. The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of the QRIS
application in the decision to use non-cash transactions among students of the
Vocational Faculty at Universitas Sumatera Utara. This study employed a
descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interview techniques involving 20

informants use QRIS and feel safe, satisfied, and assisted in carrying out
transactions. Students perceive QRIS as an easy-to-use and efficient application
that aligns with their mobile lifestyle needs. The conclusion of this study is that
QRIS plays an important role in shaping the decision to use non-cash transactions
among students, in terms of ease of use, security, and user satisfaction.
