Coal Tar Pitch (CTP) is a residue from the coal tar distillation process used by PT Inalum as an anode binder. This study aims to compare the effect of variations in mesh size (8, 16, 30, and 60 mesh) on the quality of impurities in CTP samples using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). The results of the analysis showed that at mesh sizes 8 and 16, the sample surface was still rough and easily cracked, while at sizes 30 and 60 mesh, the surface became smooth and did not crack. The average impurities Na, Fe, Si, S, and Ca showed different results at each mesh size, with a size of 60 mesh giving the best results for impurities Fe, S, and Ca, while a size of 16 mesh giving the best value for impurities Si. Overall, a mesh size of 60 gave optimal results in improving the quality of CTP impurities.en_US
