This study aimed to examine the effect of perceived supervisor support on job hopping intention, with the mediation of job stress. A total of 153 Generation Z employees in Medan, aged 18–30 years and with less than two years of work experience, were selected as research subjects using a purposive sampling method to collect data on perceived supervisor support, job stress, and job hopping intention. Path analysis based on the Baron and Kenny approach was used as the data analysis method, along with the Sobel test to examine the mediation effect. The results showed that job stress significantly mediates the relationship between perceived supervisor support and job hopping intention. The Sobel test produced a Z value of -4.26798 with a p-value of 0.00001972 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant mediation effect. This research contributes to understanding the factors that influence job hopping intention among Generation Z employees and provides insights for companies to focus on improving supervisor support to reduce job stress and lower the job hopping intention.
