Upaya Lembaga Pusat Pengembangan Anak (PPA) Harapan Kita dalam Mengatasi Perilaku Menyimpang pada Remaja Binaan : Studi di Desa Sei Semayang

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from children to the adult phase, during which adolescents are prone to experiencing emotional instability and are easily influenced by their social environment. As a result, not a few teenagers show deviant behavior such as disobedience, speaking rudely, lying, stealing and so on. Deviant behavior in adolescents is generally caused by factors from within adolescents, families, schools, the environment, and mass media factors. Seeing conditions like this, the existence of the PPA Institution is here to provide guidance to adolescents in a holistic manner. This study aims to find out and analyze the efforts made by PPA Harapan Kita in overcoming deviant behavior in assisted adolescents. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained in the field is then analyzed by the researcher qualitatively, until a conclusion can be drawn from the research. The results of the study show that PPA takes three approaches in overcoming deviant behavior in assisted adolescents, namely through preventive efforts, repressive efforts and curative efforts. These three approaches can help the adolescents fostered at PPA to experience positive changes in attitudes and behaviors in daily life.
