| dc.description.abstract | Women's involvement in the world of work has been a long-standing practice. However, protection for female workers in the workplace is still minimal. The acts of violence and sexual harassment studied in this phenomenon are acts experienced by female workers on oil palm plantations. The oil palm plantation sector in Indonesia is known as the backbone of the economy but often hides about female workers who experience violence and sexual harassment in it. Violence and sexual harassment are critical issues that have an impact on the well-being of life, mentality, and economy of female workers. By conducting direct observation of the forms of violence and sexual harassment experienced by female workers. By using field notes to approach the life journeys of female workers who have experienced violence and sexual harassment. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving direct interviews with female workers. This study shows that violence and sexual harassment in oil palm plantations occur in various forms, ranging from derogatory words, unwanted physical contact, to coercion and threats related to wages for female workers. The results of this study indicate a lack of knowledge about various forms of sexual harassment. Lack of knowledge about various forms of sexual harassment makes acts of sexual harassment that occur a joke. Actions such as cat calling, whistling, winking, and humor that leads to sexuality are considered normal and are not reprehensible acts. The actions experienced by female workers that occur continuously and have become a norm in society. There needs to be an increase in the handling of female workers, a place of protection and proper complaints for female workers. | en_US |
