| dc.description.abstract | Archive Maintenance is very important to ensure the security and safety of archives from damage, loss, and archives are maintained. Good maintenance ensures that archives remain valid, reliable, easy to find, and easily accessible to meet administrative, legal, and historical needs. This research aims to find out how archive maintenance, inhibiting factors and efforts made in improving the security and safety of archives at the Medan City Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency. The subjects of this research are archivists and employees/staff of the archive section. Data collection instruments in this study using observation, interviews, and documentation in the archivist and archive section employees. The results showed that archive maintenance at BKPSDM Medan City showed that archive maintenance had been carried out by following applicable procedures and regulations. However, in the implementation of archive maintenance there are still some obstacles that must be considered. Archive Maintenance at the Staffing and Human Resources Development Agency of Medan City has been running well according to procedures, but the maintenance of archives still requires attention, which is still less than optimal, marked by the existence of files that are still piling up in the work room and in the archive room. In addition, fumigation has never been carried out, archive maintenance has not been fully carried out such as patching / connecting archives whose physical condition is damaged. | en_US |
