North Sumatra Province faces significant challenges in achieving equitable education quality across its regencies and cities. A systematic evaluation of education levels is essential to identify regions that require special attention. This study aims to compare the accuracy of three Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods—CODAS, SAW and VIKOR in ranking the education levels of 33 regencies/cities in North Sumatra. The weights of the criteria are determined objectively using the Entropy method, based on five indicators: Expected Years of Schooling (HLS), Mean Years of Schooling (RLS), Human Development Index (HDI),Poverty Rate, and Unemployment Rate. The rankings generated by the three methods are then analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation to assess the consistency among them. The results indicate that CODAS and SAW exhibit a very high level of agreement, with a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.970 reflecting strong consistency in their ranking outcomes. In contrast, the VIKOR method shows lower accuracy in representing the actual conditions of regional education. These findings suggest that CODAS and SAW are more suitable for evaluating education levels in North Sumatra.
