This study aims to analyze the impact of work-life balance on job-hopping
tendencies among Generation Z employees in Medan. The background of this
research is the increasing tendency of job-hopping among Generation Z, known for
prioritizing flexibility and balance between personal life and work. The method
used is a quantitative approach with a correlational research design, involving 170
Generation Z employees working in various companies in Medan with less than
two years of work experience. Data were collected through questionnaires
measuring work-life balance and job-hopping tendencies. The results of linear
regression analysis indicate a significant negative effect of work-life balance on
job-hopping tendencies (β = -0.627, p < 0.001), with a coefficient of determination
(R²) of 61.9%. These findings suggest that Generation Z employees are likely to
change jobs if their work-life balance is not met, highlighting the need for
companies to enhance support for this balance to reduce job-hopping rates.
