dc.description.abstractCoal Tar Pitch (CTP) is used as an anode binder in the aluminum industry. Before use, CTP is analyzed in the laboratory to determine its impurity content. This study compares the effect of pressure variations in sample preparation (3 tons, 5 tons, and 30 tons) on the analysis results using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). The results show that at 30 tons of pressure, the sample structure is denser, while at 3 and 5 tons, it is coarser. The average Na impurities at 3 tons, 5 tons, and 30 tons are 76.6, 49.8, and 127.4 ppm, respectively, but do not meet the standard range. Fe impurities meet the standards at all pressures with averages of 61, 60, and 63.4 ppm respectively. Si impurities do not meet the standards at all three pressures, while S and Ca impurities meet the standards at several pressures, especially at 30 tons. Overall, the 30-ton pressure yielded the best results.en_US
