PENGARUH PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI TERHADAP KESEJAHTERAAN DI KOTA MEDAN DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ANALISIS JALUR

Abstract

Economic growth is an indicator of success in economic development. The level of progress of an economy is determined by the amount of growth reflected in changes in national output. Economic growth is also an important indicator in encouraging the development performance of a region. Community welfare is an important element in an economic growth strategy, where the success of economic growth is measured based on increasing population welfare. This research aims to determine the effect of economic growth on welfare in Medan City, both directly and indirectly. Research data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of North Sumatra Province. The variables used in this research include GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product), TPT (Open Unemployment Rate), Inflation Rate, Education (average years of schooling), Health (life expectancy), Per Capita Level (expenditure), Investment Level, and Employment Opportunities (number of jobs). The data was analyzed using the path analysis method. The results of data processing show that in the hypothesis test (F) for one of the equations with the dependent variable education, a calculated F value of 83.934 was obtained which was greater than the F table of 4.387, as well as a significance value of 0.000 which was smaller than 0.05. This shows that there is an influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable simultaneously.
