Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Beberapa Varietas Kedelai (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) dengan Perlakuan Vitamin B1 pada Areal Tegakan Kelapa Sawit
The Growth and Production of Several Soybean Varieties (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) with Vitamin B1 Treatment in Palm Oil Plantation Area
Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of vitamin B1 application on the growth and production of several soybean varieties in palm oil plantation areas. The study was conducted on palm oil plantation land on Jl. Berdikari, Padang Bulan, Medan Baru, Medan, North Sumatra, at an altitude of approximately 33 m above sea level, from February 2025 to May 2025. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 treatment factors and 4 replications. The first factor was the soybean variety consisting of Anjasmoro, Dena-1, and Dena-2. The second factor was the vitamin B1 treatment during seed soaking for 6 hours, consisting of 2 levels: vitamin B1 solution (1%) and control (0%). The observed variables include plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, stem diameter, leaf area, flowering age, harvest age, number of pods, pod weight, seed weight, 100-seed weight, root weight, and shoot weight. The results of research show that the application of vitamin B1 (1%) during seed soaking had no significant effect on all observation variables. The variety factor had a significant effect on several observation variables, namely plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and harvest age. The Dena 2 soybean variety had more leaves and a larger stem diameter compared to the Anjasmoro variety, and a longer harvest age. The Dena 1 soybean variety was taller than both Anjasmoro and Dena 2 varieties, and some Dena 1 plants experienced etiolation under the oil palm canopy, but had a faster harvest age.
