This study involved 56 adolescents from rural villages as the subjects. The approach used was Indigenous Psychology, with Kim's instrument consisting of explanations and forms of happiness. The data obtained were processed using categorization analysis techniques. The researchers identified four categories that served as sources of happiness for rural adolescents: relationships with others (37%): related to gathering with friends, family, having a harmonious family, and making parents proud/happy; achievement (15%): including achieving and achieving goals or accomplishments; self-fulfillment (11%): related to health, vacations or leisure time, and receiving gifts; and relationship with God (8%): spirituality or religious activities. This means that the sources of happiness for adolescents living in rural areas come from relationships with others, specifically family and friends, and achievement, related to accomplishments and achieving goals or accomplishments.en_US
