Stunting is a health problem caused by chronic malnutrition that begins during the first 1,000 days of life, negatively affecting physical growth, cognitive development, and future productivity. Stunting remains a serious public health issue in Indonesia, including in Tanjung Balai City, requiring intensive action from various sectors. One of the key factors influencing stunting is food accessibility at the household level. The Food Accessibility Program contributes to stunting reduction through the distribution of nutritious food, particularly to families at risk. This study aims to analyzr the acceleration of stunting reduction through the implementation of the Food Accessibility Program in Tanjung Balai City. This qualitative research was conducted using purposive sampling and indepth interview with informants. Data were analyzed interactively and continuously until saturation was reached. The findings show that over 95% of the nutritious food assistance was distributed directly by the Tanjung Balai City Food and Agriculture Agency, with logistical support from the government partner, ID Food, without involving third parties. However, challenges remain, such as manual registration systems, limited staff training, inadewuate facilities, and technical issue in the field including long queues and unfavorable weather conditions. The study concludes that the program has been fairly effective and supports the acceleration of stunting reduction. Digitalizing the registration system, improving staff training, and enhancing cross sectoral coordination are recommended to increase the programs’s efficiency and sustainability.
