Moral Value Through Character In The Movie Zootopia
Abstract
Background: Moral value is a lesson or message contained in a story that reflects what is right and wrong, aiming to build good character and attitude in society. Moral values are often conveyed through movies as a medium to influence and educate the audience.
Objective: This paper aims to find out what types of moral values are described in the movie Zootopia and to explain how those moral values are represented through the characters and storyline.
Method: The writer uses descriptive qualitative research method, and the data is taken from the dialogues and scenes of the movie Zootopia. The data is analyzed based on the theory of moral values by Linda and Richard Eyre.
Results: The results of the research show that there are several types of moral values found in the movie Zootopia, such as honesty, responsibility, courage. selfdiscipline, lovalty, and respect. The most dominant moral value found in the movie is responsibility.
Conclusion: The movie Zootopia contains various moral values that can give positive messages to the audience. The dominant moral value described in this movie is responsibility, which is portrayed through the main character's actions and decisions
