This research is titled Hiou as a Tourist Attraction in Rambung Merah Village, Siantar District, Simalungun Regency: A Study of Cultural Tourism. This study aims to understand the meaning and function of Simalungun hiou. Hiou is a traditional woven cloth used in every Simalungun customary ceremony. The research method used by the author is a qualitative design with an interactive model. Data were collected through observation techniques and interviews with informants. The approach used in this writing is a commodification approach. In the commodification process, something that is produced is not primarily based on its use value, but more on its exchange value. The results of this research show that there are 13 Simalungun hiou, including: hiou hatirongga, hiou tapak satur, hiou ragi sapot, hiou suri-suri, hiou bulang-bulang, hiou ragi idup, hiou ragi bintang maratur, hiou sitoluntuho, hiou ragi panei, hiou ipput ni hirik, hiou mangiring, hiou tappunei, hiou simangkat-angkat. The hiou is used based on its respective functions.
