Sistem Monitoring Deteksi Kadar Kelembapan Tanah dan Suhu Pada Sistem Irigasi Tanaman dengan menggunakan Panel Surya Berbasis Internet of Things (IoT)
Soil Moisture and Temperature Monitoring System for Plant Irrigation Using Solar Panels Based on the Internet of Things (IoT)
Abstract
An effective and energy-efficient crop irrigation system is needed to support
agricultural productivity, especially in overcoming problems of water availability
and efficient use of electrical energy. This research aims to design a monitoring
system for soil moisture and temperature detection in automatic crop irrigation
based on the Internet of Things (IoT) through the ThingSpeak platform, with power
supply from solar panels. The method used includes designing a system based on
the ESP32 microcontroller, soil moisture sensor, DHT11 sensor, and relay as a
water pump actuator. The system is also equipped with an IoT interface to monitor
plant conditions in real-time and a solar power generation system (PLTS) as a
source of power supply. The test results show that the system can work
automatically based on soil moisture sensor readings. The water pump will turn on
when the soil moisture is below 30% and will turn off when it reaches 70%. The
power supply test shows that the solar panel voltage is 13.5 V and the battery
voltage is 13.45 V, which indicates that the charging process takes place optimally.
This system is expected to help farmers manage crop watering more efficiently and
sustainably.
