Soxlethation Extraction on Tener And Dura Types of Oil Palm for Analysis of CPO (Crude Palm Oil) Yield Content PT. Sumber Sawit Makmur Laut Tador Kab. Batu Bara
Abstract
Tenera and Dura are the two main types of oil palm that are commonly grown, making them important commodities in the vegetable oil sector. The purpose of this study was to compare the oil content of the two types of crude palm oil (CPO) using the soxhlet extraction method. N-Hexane solvent was used to extract the flesh from oil palm fruit samples of each variety. Based on the results of the study, the factory's own fruit (kernel fruit) had an Oil Extraction Yield of 23.93% for ripe Tenera fruit, 16.71% for unripe Tenera fruit, 18.03% for ripe Dura fruit, and 27.61% for unripe Dura fruit. On the other hand, 20.43% of the fruit from third-party fruit (supplier fruit) was ripe Tenera, 12.18% was unripe Tenera, 12.53% was ripe Dura, and 20.33% was unripe Dura. The findings showed that the results of the study showed that the Tenera variety of oil palm produced higher yields than Dura. This is due to the greater thickness of the mesocarp and the more specific shell. According to SNI 2901:2021, the results of the analysis of the oil yield levels in Tenera and Dura oil palm fruits are around 20–24%.
