Online gambling has become a crisis in Indonesia. The rapid growth of online gambling undoubtedly has its own negative impacts. Online gambling is stated to pose significant risks to individuals involved in terms of psychosocial aspects if not stopped immediately. Individuals involved in online gambling come from various age groups, including students. One of the factors that can contribute to adolescents' involvement in online gambling is the role of parents in choosing parenting styles. Authoritarian parenting styles are considered to contribute to increasing the likelihood of students being involved in online gambling. On the other hand, peer pressure can also be a factor that reinforces students' tendencies to engage in online gambling. This study aims to determine the influence of authoritarian parenting styles on online gambling tendencies among university students of Islamic-based universities in City X with peer pressure as a moderator. The population in this study consists of students from Islamic-based universities in City X aged 18-21 years. The sample size is 384 individuals. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling. The analysis methods include simple moderation analysis, and the testing is conducted using the Process Macro by Hayes in SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution). The results of the study show that authoritarian parenting styles influence students' tendencies to engage in online gambling, and peer pressure as a moderator significantly strengthens the influence of authoritarian parenting styles on online gambling tendencies. The majority of students also exhibit a high tendency to be involved in online gambling, therefore, universities are expected to make efforts to prevent an increasing number of students from engaging in online gambling in the future.
