Potret Kenakalan Remaja dalam Novel Persona Karya Sirhayani : Kajian Sosiologi Sastra

Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) The forms of juvenile delinquency in the novel Persona by Sirhayani. (2) The causes of juvenile delinquency in the novel Persona by Sirhayani, and (3) The impact of juvenile delinquency in the novel Persona by Sirhayani. This research is qualitative and uses a descriptive method. The data in this research consists of sentences related to juvenile delinquency, including narrator narratives, character dialogues, and actions that demonstrate juvenile delinquency. The data source for this research is the novel Persona by Sirhayani. Data collection was carried out in five stages: (1) Carefully reading the novel multiple times. (2) Marking the novel according to the focus of the research problem. (3) Interpreting all the obtained data. (4) Describing all the data obtained. (5) Recording the descriptive data that corresponds to the research focus. Data analysis was done by interpreting the data, drawing conclusions, and writing a report of the analysis results. Based on the research findings, the following conclusions were drawn. First, the forms of juvenile delinquency in the novel Persona by Sirhayani includes premarital sex, prostituion, drug abuse, and alcohol consumption.. Second, the causes of juvenile delinquency in the novel Persona by Sirhayani include internal factors (weak self-control) and external factors (dysfunctional family and peer influence). Third, the impacts of juvenile delinquency in the novel Persona by Sirhayani include effects on the individual teenager and on the family.
