Analisis Sektor Basis dan Komoditi Unggulan terhadap Pertumbuhan Perekonomian Kabupaten Simalungun

Abstract

Analysis of Basic Sectors and Leading Commodities on Economic Growth in Simalungun District (The Research was Supervised by Mrs. Nurul Fajriah Pinem Supervisor I and Mrs.Riantri Barus Lecturer II). The agricultural sector is one of the sectors that plays the most role in regional economic growth. One of the indicators used to view the regional economic is gross regional domestic product (GDRP). This research aims to analyze the basic sectors in economic growth, analyze leading commodities in the agricultural subsector, and analyze changes in the role of the agricultural subsector in simalungun regency. The area determination method used in this purposive area sampling method. The analysis methods used are the location quotient (LQ) method and shift share analysis. The research results show that the basic sectors for economic growth are the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors, and the government administration, defense and mandatory social security sectors. The leading commodity in plantation crops is arabica coffee. The results of the shift share analysis show the total positive growth performance of the agricultural sector.
