ALBERT OREN HARIANJA: Morphological Characterization of Siamese
Orange Plants (Citrus nobilis) in Karo Regency supervised by Ir. Revandy
Iskandar Muda Damanik, M.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.
This research aims to characterize and analyze the morphological variations
of Siamese orange plants (Citrus nobilis) as well as the relationship between orange
plants in three different locations in Karo Regency. The research was carried out
using an exploratory survey method, involving collecting orange plant accessions
at production centers in Kabanjahe, Tiga Panah and Merek. Direct observations in
the field were carried out to identify local names, characteristics, characteristics
and cultivation techniques applied.
The kinship among Siam orange (Citrus nobilis) accessions in Karo Regency,
analyzed based on a combination of qualitative data (plant form, leaves, fruits, skin
color, flesh, and taste) and quantitative data (stem circumference, number of seeds,
and segments), shows that at a rescaled distance of 0–5, a close grouping occurs.
In this first cluster, the accessions KR1, MA3, MD2, TS3, MD1, MN1, MD3, MN2,
TD1, TA3, TA2, KL2, KL1, TA1, KD3, TD2, MN3, TS2, KL3, KD2, MA2, KR2,
MA1, and KD1 are grouped together. This indicates that these accessions still share
relatively similar characteristics, despite originating from different locations.
