Occupational stress has become a significant global concern, profoundly affecting workers across various sectors, particularly those engaged in public service institutions such as BPJS Employees Medan Kota Branch. Excessive stress can threaten an individual’s ability to perform job responsibilities effectively. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted at the BPJS Employees of Medan Kota Branch from February to April 2025. The study population consisted of all 39 employees at the Medan Kota Branch, with the entire population included as the research sample through total sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires: the independent variables were assessed using the NIOSH questionnaire, while the dependent variable (work stress) was measured using the DASS-42 instrument. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 25, encompassing two stages: univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with Pearson correlation tests. The results indicated significant relationship between work stress and several factors: interpersonal conflict (r=0.766; p-value=0.001), quantitative workload (r=0.630; p-value=0.001), responsibility for others (r=-0.445; p-value=0.005), and mental demands (r=-0.530; p-value=0.004). Based on these findings, it is recommended that BPJS Employees of Medan Kota Branch conduct regular family gathering activities at least twice a year, involving all employees. For the BPJS Employees of Medan Kota Branch, it is advisable to establish daily and weekly work priorities, utilize a to-do list, and set clear deadlines to enhance task completion efficiency.en_US
