Peran Social Support terhadap Grit pada Guru Sekolah Luar Biasa di Kota Medan

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of social support on grit of special education teachers in Medan. This research used a quantitative approach. The respondents were 115 special education teachers in Medan, accessed through five special education schools (SLB) spread across the city. The measurement using a Likert scales : the teacher grit scale developed by Rola et al. (2024) based on Duckworth's theory (2007), consisting of 14 items, and the social support scale (ISEL) adapted by Hotmauli et al. (2024) based on Cohen & Hoberman's theory (1983), consisting of 28 items. The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis through the IBM SPSS 33 application with a significance value of 0.009 < 0.05, indicating that social support plays a positive role in grit of special education teachers in Medan.
