dc.description.abstract | This preliminary design for a catalytic pyrolysis bio-oil production plant, utilizing corn cobs (Zea Mays), is planned with a production capacity of 40,000 tons per year and will operate for 330 days annually. The main process in this plant design comprises four stages: raw material preparation, pyrolysis, primary product separation and purification, and byproduct separation and purification. A fluidized bed reactor is employed for the pyrolysis stage, operating at 500°C and 4 atm for 1 minute with a 2% Ni/NZA catalyst concentration. To achieve the production capacity of 40,000 tons of bio-oil per year (or 5,050.5051 kg/hour), the plant will require 33,609.3137 kg/hour of corn cobs (Zea Mays).
The bio-oil production plant, using corn cobs (Zea Mays) and the pyrolysis process, is planned to be established in Rejoso Lor Village, Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency, East Java, with a total plant area of 16,643 m². Water for the plant will be supplied from the Rejoso River in Pasuruan Regency, East Java, at a rate of 41,279.74 kg/hour. The planned organizational structure for the company is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational chart, employing a total of 200 employees.
The economic analysis results for this plant's preliminary design are as follows:
1. Capital Investment (CI): Rp 1,994,512,142,578,-
2. Total Cost (TC): Rp 3,305,393,058,277,-
3. Sales Revenue: Rp 4,055,691,115,823,-
4. Net Profit: Rp 463,615,050,535,-
5. Profit Margin (PM): 17.5749%
6. Break-Even Point (BEP): 44.3274%
7. Return on Investment (ROI): 23.2445%
8. Return on Net Worth (RON): 38.7409%
9. Pay Out Time (POT): 4 years 4 months
10. Internal Rate of Return (IRR): 25.1779%
Based on the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the catalytic pyrolysis bio-oil production plant, utilizing corn cobs (Zea Mays) with a production capacity of 40,000 tons per year, is feasible for establishment. | en_US |
