Ibrahim Fatoni, S.Pi., M.P. as Examiner Lecturer). Female labor is a woman who plays an active role in various activities in farming from production to harvest. The involvement of wives is an important role in the sustainability of family farming and the household economy. This study aims to analyze the role of wives in carrying out farming activities and the contribution of income earned from both the on farm and non-farm sectors to total family income. The results of this study indicate that wives play a role in various activities in farming. However, the allocation of wives' labor in farming and the contribution of income obtained from the on-farm and non-farm sectors is smaller than the allocation of labor and the contribution of husband's income. Where the allocation of husband's labor in farming is 11,399 HOK and the husband's income contribution is Rp 23,456,724 or 60% of total income. Meanwhile, the allocation of wife's labor in farming amounted to 3,123 HOK and the wife's contribution of Rp 15,855,364 or 40% of total income. The wife's contribution is considered capable of helping daily household needs and improving family welfare. So that the role of wives and their contribution is very important in supporting the family economy. This study emphasizes the importance of paying more attention to the skills of farm women who are able to increase productivity and the role of women in farming.
