Aggressiveness among Juvenile Inmates (Andikpas) in Special Child Development Institutions (LPKA) is influenced by external factors such as the environment, as well as internal factors such as poor emotion regulation and low self-control. This study aims to examine the role of emotion regulation on aggressiveness in Andikpas, mediated by self-control. This research employed a quantitative approach with a total sampling technique involving 53 Andikpas. Data were collected using the Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) developed by Buss and Perry (1992) and translated by Kiranadevi (2022), the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) developed by Gross and John (2003) and translated by Radde et al. (2021), and a self-control scale designed by Karsinah (2020). Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with bootstrapping features in SmartPLS. The results revealed a significant negative effect of emotion regulation on aggressiveness in Andikpas, mediated by self-control. In other words, Andikpas with poor emotion regulation tend to have low self-control, which increases the likelihood of aggressive behavior. This study implies the importance of LPKA and relevant stakeholders in implementing regular training programs to enhance emotion regulation and self-control skills as an effort to reduce aggressiveness in Andikpas.en_US
