Integrasi Microsoft Excel dalam Pembuatan Dashboard untuk Visualisasi Temporal Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas
Integration of Microsoft Excel In Creating a Dashboard for Temporal Visualization of Traffic Accidents
Abstract
This study aims to explore the potential of Microsoft Excel as a tool for developing
an interactive dashboard to analyze traffic accident data temporally in the North
Sumatra region. The secondary data spans from 2018 to 2022, covering variables
such as the number of accidents, fatalities, serious injuries, minor injuries, and
material losses. The analysis process employs key Excel features such as
PivotTables, line charts, slicers, and pie charts, all integrated into a single
interactive dashboard view.
The dashboard allows users to observe accident patterns by year, district/city,
accident type, and contributing factors. The results show fluctuations in the number
of accidents, peaking in 2019 and significantly decreasing in 2021, with the main
causes identified as poor road conditions and natural disasters. This visual
representation facilitates data-driven decision-making for relevant stakeholders,
such as government institutions and traffic police.
These findings affirm that Microsoft Excel, despite its simplicity, can serve as an
efficient and informative tool for data visualization and applied statistical
analysis.
