This study discusses the circulation services at the Universitas Sari Mutiara (Sari
Mutiara University) Library, with the effectiveness of these services being crucial
in supporting the academic activities of the university community. The study aims
to evaluate the implementation of circulation services, including membership,
borrowing, returning, overdue notices, sanctions, clearance issuance, and service
statistics. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in this study. The data
were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and
documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis was conducted through data
reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings
show that the circulation services have been carried out systematically with the
support of the INLISLITE-based automation system, enhancing efficiency and
accuracy. Service innovations such as WhatsApp notifications and NIM/NIP-based
verification also contribute to improving the quality of circulation services. In
conclusion, the circulation services have been implemented effectively so far;
however, improvements are needed in the areas of human resources, user education,
and the development of technology-based self-service systems. The proposed
recommendations include strengthening librarian training, providing an online
clearance request system, and utilizing dashboard-based statistics as a basis for
service policy-making.
