    Abstract
Analysis of the free fatty acid (FFA) content and moisture content has been conducted at the PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Adolina Palm Oil Mill Laboratory in January 2025. The purpose of this study is to determine the FFA content and moisture content in the Crude Palm Oil (CPO) samples analyzed in that laboratory. CPO is the oil obtained from the mesocarp of the oil palm fruit through an extraction process and has not undergone the purification stage. One of the common problems occurring in CPO processing factories is the decline in quality due to high levels of free fatty acids and moisture content. Therefore, quality control is essential to ensure that the quality of CPO remains in accordance with the established standards. In this study, the level of free fatty acids was analyzed using titrimetric methods, while the moisture content was determined using thermogravimetric methods. The quality standards used refer to SNI 01-2901-2006, which establishes the limit for ALB content at 3.0%-5.0% and moisture content at 0.25%-0.50%. This study also aims to evaluate the quality of CPO stored in the tanks of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV through chemical composition analysis. The ALB analysis was performed using titration method with 1% phenolphthalein indicator, while the moisture content was measured using an oven. The titration results for ALB showed values of 4.48%, 4.29%, and 4.27%, while the moisture content from three measurements was obtained at 0.175%, 0.216%, and 0.172%. From these results, it can be concluded that the average ALB content and moisture content in the CPO samples are still within the quality standard limits according to SNI 01-2901-2006.
