This research explores the form of impunity in two novels from different cultural backgrounds: Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas by Eka Kurniawan. The aim of this study is to prove that both novels are not merely about romantic relationships but are deeply centered on the issue of impunity. The characters in both stories frequently commit acts that should be punishable under law but manage to escape responsibility. In conducting this analysis, the researcher applies a descriptive qualitative method as all data is presented in words and sentences. The researcher not only identifies acts of impunity based on eight forms: language manipulation, self-justification, legal evasion, abuse of power, social exploitation, misuse of institutional systems, denial of responsibility, and exploitation of legal loopholes, but also compares the two novels using intrinsic elements such as plot, characters, conflict, setting, and point of view. Despite their differing social, cultural, and geographical contexts, both novels show that legal impunity is a universal phenomenon that can occur anywhere, transcending national boundaries and legal systems. Through a comparative literature approach, this study offers a cross-cultural perspective on how impunity is subtly embedded in literary narratives and often goes unnoticed by society. It is hoped that readers become more sensitive to the presence of impunity and recognize that injustice is not merely a legal issue but also a profound human concern.en_US
