dc.description.abstract | The Archives Office of University of North Sumatra, as the technical unit responsible for records management, is tasked with ensuring that these records are well-organized, easily accessible, and protected from damage or loss. This study aims to examine how the management of active dynamic records is implemented at the Archives Office of University of North Sumatra and to identify the challenges encountered in its implementation. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including direct observation, interviews, and documentation of on-site records management activities. The findings reveal that the Archives Office of University of North Sumatra has applied four main stages in managing active dynamic records creation, utilization, maintenance, and disposition in accordance with the guidelines from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI). However, several challenges remain, such as limited human resources, low awareness of archival practices at the work-unit level, and suboptimal utilization of digital systems (e-archives). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the management of active dynamic records at the Archives Office of University of North Sumatra is functioning fairly well but requires improvement through regular archival training, strengthened coordination among work units, and the development of an integrated digital system to achieve more efficient and sustainable records management. | en_US |
