SIR 20 rubber (Standard Indonesian Rubber) is one of the most widely produced and exported types of rubber in Indonesia. The quality of SIR 20 rubber is determined by several parameters, including dirt content and volatile matter content. This study aims to analyze the dirt content and volatile matter content in SIR 20 rubber produced by PT. Rubber Hock Lie Sunggal. Dirt content testing was conducted using the principle of separating dirt from rubber using turpentine solvent, filtration, and drying of the residue. Volatile matter content testing was performed using the gravimetric method. The results of the study showed that the dirt content in the SIR 20 rubber samples was 0.069%; 0.079%; 0.068%; 0.070%; 0.072%, while the volatile matter content was 0.24%; 0.30%; 0.29%; 0.33%; 0.20%. Based on Ministry of Trade Regulation No. 26 of 2021, which includes provisions on the implementation of SPPT SNI 1903:2017 covering the technical specifications of natural rubber Standard Indonesian Rubber (SIR), the dirt content parameter is 0.16%, while the volatile matter content is 0.80%. Factors influencing these variations include the source of raw materials, processing methods, and storage conditions. The test results indicate that the SIR 20-grade crumb rubber samples from PT. Rubber Hock Lie Sunggal meet the quality standards set by the government.
